| Smith & Nephew @ AOS
At the recent Australian Orthopedic Association Conference, which was held in Cairns, GCD had the opportunity to again work with the team at Smith & Nephew on their stand for the conference.
The main goal was to create a fresh, new look using components of their existing custom stand with the addition of hire components to create an inviting “café” type feel.
It consisted of seven separate product areas plus a hospitality lounge and storeroom. Strategically placed translucent graphic panels stretched within Maxima built frames and curved carpet on top of the tiled floor created an open, modern and sophisticated stand.

| EA GAMES @ EB – Solutions on any budget
In October, GCD had another opportunity to work along-side Electronic Arts ( EA) who were participating at the EB Vendor Show.
They had increased their floor space from 80sqm from past shows to a much larger prominent space of 256sqm. Like most this year, their budget for this show was limited especially in respect to the increase in space they had to fill.
Working with their team, GCD produced a stand with the same presence as a large custom stand but at only a fraction of the cost. With a 14m wide product banner to highlight the launch of one of their major new titles and a number of plasma screens and furniture to match. It is amazing how a little can go such a long way.

| Pitney Bowes at PacPrint 09
At this years PacPrint 09 Exhibition, we at GCD were briefed by our client to create a look and environment to reflect their new environmental initiative “Green Mail”.
So the team went to work on how we can make this come to life. After some great ideas we settled with a design that fitted the mould perfectly, some of the more unique ideas were;
- Vertical Garden walls
- Water Falls
- A large Pond with Goldfish
We engaged the services of an award winning landscape architect, James Dawson. The stand was given a complete carbon emissions audit and passed with flying colours with 90% of the stand recyclable and reusable. Pitney Bowes were over the moon that they could have a stand of this calibre on a tight budget and it well and truly exceeded their objectives for this event.

| QLD Rugby Club
We like to think that we can answer all our clients’ calls of “HELP!”.
Our good friends from QLD Rugby Club called and advised that they were launching their new facility “ The Strand” and this was to be unveiled at the Qld Brides Wedding Expo.
We had to make a 3m x 3m Booth reflect a romantic setting overlooking the Brisbane River.
Well 3 weeks later we had a call to advise that the client had, in less than 4 hours of the show starting, over 40 serious leads and bookings and by the end of the show this totaled over 300.
There was not a huge budget to do this but at GCD we strive to find very effective solutions to fit any budget.

| Expert Advice
MAXIMISING TRADESHOW ROI (Return on Investment)
To truly benefit from all the hard work that you put into exhibiting and to fully gain the return from your investment you must ensure that the appropriate follow up takes place.
- It is vital that before the show you spend time going over the lead collection process.
- Clarify exactly what information needs to be recorded
- Everyone working the show should know what results you are wanting to achieve
- For each show set yourself specific, clear, quantifiable, realistic goals which should be in line with your company’s overall marketing objectives.
It is important that at the conclusion of an event a follow up by email or by letter is sent out to everyone who visited your booth to thank them and let them know when they can expect to hear from your company. This should be done 3-5 days after the show – Remember if you don’t, it’s more than likely your competitors will.
